In the advanced arena each challenge rewards you with a key alongside regular rewards. In order to access the time attack challenge you must defeat 3 challenges from any of the other levels.
The Valkyrie is replaced by a time attack challenge where you must defeat a certain number of enemies within the time limit or complete other very difficult challenges to get the best rewards. The advanced mode works slightly differently.
Once you complete all of the challenges and defeat the Valkyrie you unlock an advanced mode of the arena. They range in difficulty, from Easy to Impossible, although most of them can be easily managed with the correct selection of skills and abilities. You work your way up the mountain interacting with the large swords the participate in different challenges. The Muspelheim Arena features 6 different challenge tiers including a fight with a Valkyrie.
